Frequently Asked Questions about Mole Removal

The procedure usually takes between 30 minutes and 45 minutes, but may take longer for multiple moles.

During your consultation, we will inspect your mole and discuss with you whether it is suitable for removal and what the best method of removal would be. Our free consultations are carried out digitally. On the day of your procedure, you will be cared for by our medical team led by our consultant plastic surgeon.

Once the mole is removed it is usually gone forever. There is a very small chance it may grow back, in these circumstances we will book you in for a second treatment.

You’ll be seen on the day by Mr Rimouche, our consultant plastic surgeon, consent will be taken with you, then usually local anaesthetic is injected at the site of the mole and then the mole is removed and usually the wound is sutured.

The recovery time for a mole removal procedure is usually 1 to 2 days, there is minimal downtime and most patients resume their normal activities whilst healing.

Moles can appear on any area of the body and as such we can remove them from any area, however the most common areas are the hands/arms and face/neck.

Your procedure will be carried out by Mr Sofiane Rimouche, Consultant Plastic Surgeon who has more than 10 years’ experience in cosmetic surgery.
