Dr Basil Issa is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Manchester University Foundation Trust, The Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle and The Wilmslow Hospital. He underwent his training in Manchester, Southampton and Cardiff where he completed his Doctorate degree. Basil has worked as a consultant in the NHS and privately for over 20 years and has a wide-ranging experience in all aspects of Endocrinology and Diabetes. He led the obesity services at North Manchester Hospital and ran a busy obesity clinic and a very low-calorie diet service. Other interests include Adrenal, Thyroid and Female and Male hormonal disorders.
Basil has research interest in obesity and adrenal disease and he has a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals and numerous abstracts published in proceedings of national and international meetings. He has also held a number of leadership positions in the NHS.
